It achieved a price of USD 3,328.00 (€ 3,008.50), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 33%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bert Stern achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Marilyn Monroe, 'The Last Sitting', 1962, an exhibition presented at seventh 'Mois de la Photo à Paris', 1992 in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 146,500.00 (€ 105,251.81).

Die Arbeit Marylin Monroe in Black Evening Dress (from 'The Last Sitting') von Bert Stern wurde im Dezember diesen Jahres in der Auktion The Gift of Photographs bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 3.328,00 (€ 3.008,50) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 33%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bert Stern erzielen.
