Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Marilyn Monroe (Contact Sheet from 'The Last Sitting') by Bert Stern was sold in the The Gift of Photographs auction at Bonhams in New York in December this year. The price achieved of USD 5,632.00 (€ 5,091.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bert Stern achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Marilyn Monroe, 'The Last Sitting', 1962, an exhibition presented at seventh 'Mois de la Photo à Paris', 1992 in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 146,500.00 (€ 105,251.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Marilyn Monroe (Contact Sheet from 'The Last Sitting') von Bert Stern wurde im Dezember diesen Jahres in der Auktion The Gift of Photographs bei Bonhams in New York versteigert.
