Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,512.00 (€ 1,759.25). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bert Hardy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Gorbals, Glasgow, 1948, which sold at auction in April 2014 for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,781.85).

Die Arbeit 'Cockney Life At The Elephant And Castle', London, January 9, 1949 von Bert Hardy kam im Mai 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.512,00 (€ 1.759,25) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Bert Hardy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Gorbals, Glasgow, 1948 beobachtet, die im April 2014 für GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.781,85) versteigert wurde.
