This artwork by Bernard Pothast achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in March 2021. In the British and European Art auction, the work Playmates sold for GBP 4,845.00 (€ 5,691.63) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,800.00. Admittedly, works by Bernard Pothast have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The new dress in April 2000 with an auction result of GBP 25,850.00 (€ 44,254.15).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Bernard Pothast erzielte im März 2021 bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British and European Art wurde die Arbeit Playmates für GBP 4.845,00 (€ 5.691,63) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bernard Pothast auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The new dress im April 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.850,00 (€ 44.254,15).
