It achieved a price of GBP 960.00 (€ 1,425.82), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 60%. Admittedly, works by Bernard Picart have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An Allegorical Frontispiece, Perhaps A Reflection On Human Frailty in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,855.89).
