This artwork by Bernard Picart achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2016. In the Old Master Drawings and British Drawings and Watercolours auction, the work Six cameos with mythological and classical subjects sold for GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,507.49) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bernard Picart - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An Allegorical Frontispiece, Perhaps A Reflection On Human Frailty, which sold at auction in July 2013 for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,855.89).

In der Auktion Old Master Drawings and British Drawings and Watercolours wurde die Arbeit Six cameos with mythological and classical subjects für GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.507,49) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Bernard Picart mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit An Allegorical Frontispiece, Perhaps A Reflection On Human Frailty beobachtet, die im Juli 2013 für GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.855,89) versteigert wurde.
