Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2015 a collector was able to acquire the work The Expulsion of Heliodorus from the Temple by Bernard Picart for EUR 1,125.00. This price was achieved in the auction The I.Q. van Regteren Altena Collection Part IV at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of EUR 1,500.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Bernard Picart have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An Allegorical Frontispiece, Perhaps A Reflection On Human Frailty in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,855.89).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2015 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Expulsion of Heliodorus from the Temple von Bernard Picart für EUR 1.125,00 erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The I.Q. van Regteren Altena Collection Part IV bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bernard Picart auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit An Allegorical Frontispiece, Perhaps A Reflection On Human Frailty im Juli 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.855,89).
