Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Crab by Bernard Meadows was sold in the Modern & Post War British Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in June 2021. The price achieved of GBP 18,900.00 (€ 22,023.41) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by Bernard Meadows have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Startled Bird in November 2013 with an auction result of GBP 134,500.00 (€ 161,852.75).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Crab von Bernard Meadows wurde im Juni 2021 in der Auktion Modern & Post War British Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 18.900,00 (€ 22.023,41) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bernard Meadows auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Startled Bird im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 134.500,00 (€ 161.852,75).
