Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2019 Christies in London held the auction Modern | British Art, which included the work Maquette for 'Jesus' Crab (Small Spider Crab) by Bernard Meadows. The price achieved of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,613.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Bernard Meadows have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Startled Bird in November 2013 with an auction result of GBP 134,500.00 (€ 161,852.75).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern | British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Maquette for 'Jesus' Crab (Small Spider Crab) von Bernard Meadows zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.613,67) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bernard Meadows auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Startled Bird im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 134.500,00 (€ 161.852,75).
