Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2014 Sothebys in London held the auction Made In Britain, which included the work 'Pilgrim' Dish by Bernard Leach. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,890.01) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bernard Leach - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Vase With 'Leaping Fish' Design, which sold at auction in November 2016 for GBP 32,500.00 (€ 38,346.80).
