Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Un Po' di Roma by Benjamin Walter Spiers was sold in the British Art on Paper auction at Christies in London in June 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 9,000.00 (€ 13,338.57) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Benjamin Walter Spiers have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Un po' di Roma in February 2007 with an auction result of GBP 38,400.00 (€ 56,926.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Un Po' di Roma von Benjamin Walter Spiers wurde im Juni 2005 in der Auktion British Art on Paper bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 9.000,00 (€ 13.338,57) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Benjamin Walter Spiers auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Un po' di Roma im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 38.400,00 (€ 56.926,62).
