Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Benjamin Walter Spiers could be acquired at Christies in London in November 2003 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British Art on Paper auction, the work High life; and Low life changed hands for GBP 5,975.00 (€ 8,577.20) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Benjamin Walter Spiers have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Un po' di Roma in February 2007 with an auction result of GBP 38,400.00 (€ 56,926.62).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Benjamin Walter Spiers konnte im November 2003 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion British Art on Paper wechselte die Arbeit High life; and Low life für GBP 5.975,00 (€ 8.577,20) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Benjamin Walter Spiers auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Un po' di Roma im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 38.400,00 (€ 56.926,62).
