Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Art And Letters: Still-Life of Books, Paintings, Prints And Other Objects by Benjamin Walter Spiers was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 16,800.00 (€ 24,930.36) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Benjamin Walter Spiers - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Un po' di Roma, which sold at auction in February 2007 for GBP 38,400.00 (€ 56,926.62).

Die Arbeit Art And Letters: Still-Life of Books, Paintings, Prints And Other Objects von Benjamin Walter Spiers kam im Juni 2007 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 16.800,00 (€ 24.930,36) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Benjamin Walter Spiers mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Un po' di Roma beobachtet, die im Februar 2007 für GBP 38.400,00 (€ 56.926,62) versteigert wurde.
