In October 2007 Christies in New York held the auction The House Sale, which included the work Study for The Judgement of Solomon by Benjamin Robert Haydon. The »bidding war« ended at USD 5,000.00 (€ 3,455.90), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Benjamin Robert Haydon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Heracles and Persephone in December 2000 with an auction result of GBP 25,850.00 (€ 41,178.82).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2007 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The House Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Study for The Judgement of Solomon von Benjamin Robert Haydon zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 5.000,00 (€ 3.455,90) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Benjamin Robert Haydon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Heracles and Persephone im Dezember 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.850,00 (€ 41.178,82).
