Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A portrait of the head of a young boy by Benjamin Robert Haydon was sold in the British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings auction at Christies in London in October 2000. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 350.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 376.00 (€ 642.69). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Benjamin Robert Haydon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Heracles and Persephone in December 2000 with an auction result of GBP 25,850.00 (€ 41,178.82).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit A portrait of the head of a young boy von Benjamin Robert Haydon wurde im Oktober 2000 in der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 350,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 376,00 (€ 642,69) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Benjamin Robert Haydon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Heracles and Persephone im Dezember 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.850,00 (€ 41.178,82).
