In October 2007 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, which included the work Autumn Picnic Along The Stream by Benjamin Champney. The »bidding war« ended at USD 16,250.00 (€ 11,231.68), 63% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Benjamin Champney; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Summer Showers sold at auction in October 2000 with the realized price of USD 17,625.00 (€ 20,769.50).

Im Oktober 2007 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Autumn Picnic Along The Stream von Benjamin Champney zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 11.231,68) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Benjamin Champney; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Summer Showers im Oktober 2000 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 17.625,00 (€ 20.769,50).
