Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2000 Christies in New York held the auction American Vision, which included the work Moonlight Landscape with Campfire by Benjamin Champney. The price achieved of USD 4,600.00 (€ 4,714.56) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Benjamin Champney have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Summer Showers in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 17,625.00 (€ 20,769.50).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2000 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Vision durch, in der auch die Arbeit Moonlight Landscape with Campfire von Benjamin Champney zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.600,00 (€ 4.714,56) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Benjamin Champney auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Summer Showers im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 17.625,00 (€ 20.769,50).
