Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a young boy wearing a blue coat, half length, turned to the right by Benedetto Luti was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 32,900.00 (€ 53,198.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Benedetto Luti have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Allegory of the Elevation of Cardinal Deacon Oddone Colonna to the Papal Chair as Pope Martin V in January 2000 with an auction result of USD 222,500.00 (€ 228,041.41).
