In September 2004 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Mine Boy by Ben Shahn. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,962.50 (€ 7,217.93), 49% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ben Shahn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Scabbies are Welcome in September 2006 with an auction result of USD 262,400.00 (€ 206,825.88).

Im September 2004 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mine Boy von Ben Shahn zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.962,50 (€ 7.217,93) und damit 49% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ben Shahn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Scabbies are Welcome im September 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 262.400,00 (€ 206.825,88).
