The work The Malcolm Arabian by Ben Marshall was sold in the Old Master Paintings and Sculpture auction at Christies in New York in April 2017. It achieved a price of USD 137,500.00 (€ 126,204.68), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 72%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Ben Marshall; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot 'Bravura', an iron-grey filly, with James Robinson up, with her owner Sir Robert Keith Dick, Bt., her trainer mounted on a grey pony to the left, on Newmarket Heath sold at auction in July 2021 with the realized price of GBP 200,000.00 (€ 234,541.47).
