Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction The Sporting Sale: Equestrian, Wildlife & Maritime Art, which included the work British Mr Henry Vansittart'S Chestnut Colt Burleigh With Sam Chifney Up, By The Rubbing-Down House At Newmarket by Ben Marshall. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 104,500.00 (€ 75,077.23) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ben Marshall - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Bravura', an iron-grey filly, with James Robinson up, with her owner Sir Robert Keith Dick, Bt., her trainer mounted on a grey pony to the left, on Newmarket Heath, which sold at auction in July 2021 for GBP 200,000.00 (€ 234,541.47).

Für andere Arbeiten von Ben Marshall mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'Bravura', an iron-grey filly, with James Robinson up, with her owner Sir Robert Keith Dick, Bt., her trainer mounted on a grey pony to the left, on Newmarket Heath beobachtet, die im Juli 2021 für GBP 200.000,00 (€ 234.541,47) versteigert wu
