Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work Britisha Grey Hunter And A Spaniel by Ben Marshall for USD 92,500.00 (€ 68,757.90). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ben Marshall - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Bravura', an iron-grey filly, with James Robinson up, with her owner Sir Robert Keith Dick, Bt., her trainer mounted on a grey pony to the left, on Newmarket Heath, which sold at auction in July 2021 for GBP 200,000.00 (€ 234,541.47).
