Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A ciociarella at the spring by Belisario Gioja was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2004, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 597.50 (€ 845.63). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Belisario Gioja - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Anticipation of the arrival, which sold at auction in September 2005 for GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,761.09).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A ciociarella at the spring von Belisario Gioja im Dezember 2004 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 597,50 (€ 845,63) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Belisario Gioja mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Anticipation of the arrival beobachtet, die im September 2005 für GBP 1.200,00 (€ 1.761,09) versteigert wurde.
