Baya Mahieddine (1931-1998) Sans titre signé du monogramme de l'artiste (au centre); signé 'Baya' (au dos) gouache sur papier 99.5 x 74.7 cm. Réalisé en 1977. signed with the artist's monogram (to the center); signed 'Baya' (on the reverse) gouache on paper 39 1 ⁄ 8 x 29 3 ⁄ 8 in. Executed in 1977.

The work Sans titre by Baya was auctioned at Christies in Paris in May this year. It achieved a price of EUR 20,160.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 34 %. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Baya - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in November this year for GBP 47,880.00 (€ 55,482.51).

Die Arbeit Sans titre von Baya kam im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in Paris zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 20.160,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 34 %. Für andere Arbeiten von Baya mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im November diesen Jahres für GBP 47.880,00 (€ 55.482,51) versteigert wurde.
