In September 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Irish Art, which included the work Untitled (Gypsy Caravan) by Basil Blackshaw. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 10,625.00 (€ 11,933.24), 52% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Basil Blackshaw achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Fall in September 2017 with an auction result of GBP 162,500.00 (€ 184,358.33).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 52 % übertroffen
Im September 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Gypsy Caravan) von Basil Blackshaw zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 11.933,24) und damit 52% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Basil Blackshaw erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Fall im September 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 162.500,00 (€ 184.358,33).
