Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Holiday Home In The Mournes by Basil Blackshaw was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2019. The price achieved of GBP 2,375.00 (€ 2,788.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Basil Blackshaw achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Fall in September 2017 with an auction result of GBP 162,500.00 (€ 184,358.33).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.375,00 (€ 2.788,83) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Basil Blackshaw erzielen.
