Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Fall by Basil Blackshaw was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2019. The price achieved of GBP 60,000.00 (€ 70,454.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Basil Blackshaw - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Fall, which sold at auction in September 2017 for GBP 162,500.00 (€ 184,358.33).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Fall von Basil Blackshaw kam im November 2019 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 60.000,00 (€ 70.454,67) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Basil Blackshaw mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Fall beobachtet, die im September 2017 für GBP 162.500,00 (€ 184.358,33) versteigert wurde.
