Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Racehorses Exercising I by Basil Blackshaw was auctioned at Sothebys in London in September 2018. The price achieved of GBP 56,250.00 (€ 63,175.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Basil Blackshaw - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Fall, which sold at auction in September 2017 for GBP 162,500.00 (€ 184,358.33).
