Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Irish Art, which included the work Judy by Basil Blackshaw. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,650.17) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Basil Blackshaw achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Fall in September 2017 with an auction result of GBP 162,500.00 (€ 184,358.33).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Judy von Basil Blackshaw zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.650,17) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Basil Blackshaw erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Fall im September 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 162.500,00 (€ 184.358,33).
