Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Foinavon by Basil Blackshaw was sold in the Irish Art auction at Sothebys in London in October 2015. It changed hands for a price of GBP 23,750.00 (€ 33,220.32) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 18,000.00 – 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by Basil Blackshaw have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Fall in September 2017 with an auction result of GBP 162,500.00 (€ 184,358.33).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Foinavon von Basil Blackshaw wurde im Oktober 2015 in der Auktion Irish Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 23.750,00 (€ 33.220,32) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 18.000,00 – 25.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Basil Blackshaw auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Fall im September 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 162.500,00 (€ 184.358,33).
