Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Bart van der Leck achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in June 2017. In the The former Kamerbeek Collection auction, the work Study for The Haymaker sold for EUR 8,125.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bart van der Leck achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Compositie No. 3 in February 2013 with an auction result of GBP 313,250.00 (€ 363,857.63).
