Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sir Lancelot in full sail by Barry Mason was auctioned at Bonhams in London in October last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,530.00 (€ 1,782.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Barry Mason have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The extreme clipper Leander bowling along in the trade winds in May 2010 with an auction result of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,787.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sir Lancelot in full sail von Barry Mason kam im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.530,00 (€ 1.782,43) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Barry Mason auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The extreme clipper Leander bowling along in the trade winds im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.787,29).
