Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Shipping in the Thames estuary by Barry Mason was sold in the The Marine Sale auction at Bonhams in London in October this year. The price achieved of GBP 704.00 (€ 808.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Barry Mason achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The extreme clipper Leander bowling along in the trade winds in May 2010 with an auction result of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,787.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Shipping in the Thames estuary von Barry Mason wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion The Marine Sale bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 704,00 (€ 808,39) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Barry Mason erzielen.
