Here, the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 1,530.00 (€ 1,407.28). Admittedly, works by Barry Mason have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The extreme clipper Leander bowling along in the trade winds in May 2010 with an auction result of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,787.29).

(49.5 x 69.2 cm) framed 26 x 33 1/2 x 1 1/2 in. von Barry Mason kam im März diesen Jahres bei Bonhams zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 1.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 1.530,00 (€ 1.407,28) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Barry Mason auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The extreme clipper Leander bowling along in the trade winds im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.787,29).
