Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Adolphe de Meyer achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in April 2011. In the Photographs auction, the work 'Dolores' sold for USD 50,000.00 (€ 33,735.92) - well above the upper estimate of USD 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Adolphe de Meyer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Water Lilies in October 2017 with an auction result of GBP 125,000.00 (€ 142,524.47).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Adolphe de Meyer erzielte im April 2011 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographs wurde die Arbeit 'Dolores' für USD 50.000,00 (€ 33.735,92) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 18.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Adolphe de Meyer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Water Lilies im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 125.000,00 (€ 142.524,47).
