The »bidding war« ended at GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,154.24), 43% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Barnaby Furnas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hamburger Hill in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 422,500.00 (€ 293,892.60).

Die Arbeit The General (Grant) von Barnaby Furnas wurde im Juli 2020 in der Auktion Heatwave bei Phillips in einer Online-Auktion versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.154,24) und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Barnaby Furnas erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hamburger Hill im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 422.500,00 (€ 293.892,60).
