In December 2019 Phillips in London held the auction New Now, which included the work Spook by Barnaby Furnas. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 22,500.00 (€ 26,592.37), 50% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Barnaby Furnas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hamburger Hill in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 422,500.00 (€ 293,892.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2019 führte Phillips in London die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Spook von Barnaby Furnas zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 26.592,37) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Barnaby Furnas erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hamburger Hill im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 422.500,00 (€ 293.892,60).
