Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Bari Kumar could be acquired at Sothebys in Paris in October 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Curated auction, the work Surrender (diptych) changed hands for EUR 126.00 - missing the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bari Kumar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Silence II in May 2008 with an auction result of HKD 391,500.00 (€ 32,230.82).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Bari Kumar konnte im Oktober 2021 bei Sothebys in Paris für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Curated wechselte die Arbeit Surrender (diptych) für EUR 126,00 den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bari Kumar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Silence II im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 391.500,00 (€ 32.230,82).
