Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Bari Kumar was sold in the Modern & Contemporary Indian Art auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 5,770.19) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Bari Kumar have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Silence II in May 2008 with an auction result of HKD 391,500.00 (€ 32,230.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Bari Kumar wurde im September 2008 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Indian Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 5.770,19) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bari Kumar auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Silence II im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 391.500,00 (€ 32.230,82).
