Auction result well in line with expectations
In July last year Christies in London held the auction Old Masters Evening Sale, which included the work Grapes, peaches, apples and plums in a wan-li bowl on a ledge, with shells, a grasshopper and other fruit by Balthasar van der Ast. The price achieved of GBP 287,500.00 (€ 343,326.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Admittedly, works by Balthasar van der Ast have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Still Life Of Fruit And Shells With A Rose And Various Insects Upon A Stone Ledge in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 1,497,250.00 (€ 1,846,525.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Grapes, peaches, apples and plums in a wan-li bowl on a ledge, with shells, a grasshopper and other fruit von Balthasar van der Ast zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 287.500,00 (€ 343.326,06) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Balthasar van der Ast auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Still Life Of Fruit And Shells With A Rose And Various Insects Upon A Stone Ledge im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.497.250,00 (€ 1.846.525,06).
