In the The Collection of Ann & Gordon Getty: Wheatland auction, the work Fruit in a kraak porcelain dish with quinces, roses, shells and insects changed hands for USD 378,000.00 (€ 357,683.57) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 500,000.00 – 700,000.00. Admittedly, works by Balthasar van der Ast have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Still Life Of Fruit And Shells With A Rose And Various Insects Upon A Stone Ledge in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 1,497,250.00 (€ 1,846,525.06).
