Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A tulip, a carnation and roses, with shells and insects, on a ledge by Balthasar van der Ast was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January last year. The price achieved of USD 239,400.00 (€ 213,521.23) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Admittedly, works by Balthasar van der Ast have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Still Life Of Fruit And Shells With A Rose And Various Insects Upon A Stone Ledge in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 1,497,250.00 (€ 1,846,525.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A tulip, a carnation and roses, with shells and insects, on a ledge von Balthasar van der Ast kam im Januar letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 239.400,00 (€ 213.521,23) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Balthasar van der Ast auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Still Life Of Fruit And Shells With A Rose And Various Insects Upon A Stone Ledge im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.497.250,00 (€ 1.846.525,06).
