Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Balcomb Greene could be acquired at Christies in New York in July 2012 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Rocks at Water's Edge changed hands for USD 5,000.00 (€ 4,060.09) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Balcomb Greene have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Balanced Moving in February 2016 with an auction result of USD 25,000.00 (€ 23,003.31).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Balcomb Greene konnte im Juli 2012 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wechselte die Arbeit Rocks at Water's Edge für USD 5.000,00 (€ 4.060,09) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Balcomb Greene auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Balanced Moving im Februar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 23.003,31).
