In July 2012 Christies in New York held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Man in the City by Balcomb Greene. The result of USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,248.07) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Balcomb Greene have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Balanced Moving in February 2016 with an auction result of USD 25,000.00 (€ 23,003.31).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juli 2012 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Man in the City von Balcomb Greene zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 4.000,00 (€ 3.248,07) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Balcomb Greene auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Balanced Moving im Februar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 23.003,31).
