Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2017 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art – Day Sale, which included the work Untitled (Street Hawkers) by Aw Tee Hong. The price achieved of HKD 60,000.00 (€ 6,603.71) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Aw Tee Hong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Singapore River in May 2019 with an auction result of HKD 900,000.00 (€ 103,004.75).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2017 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art – Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Street Hawkers) von Aw Tee Hong zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 60.000,00 (€ 6.603,71) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Aw Tee Hong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Singapore River im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 900.000,00 (€ 103.004,75).
