Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Kampong Life by Aw Tee Hong was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 30,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 35,000.00 (€ 3,852.16) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Aw Tee Hong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Singapore River in May 2019 with an auction result of HKD 900,000.00 (€ 103,004.75).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Kampong Life von Aw Tee Hong kam im Oktober 2017 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 30.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 35.000,00 (€ 3.852,16) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Aw Tee Hong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Singapore River im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 900.000,00 (€ 103.004,75).
