Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May this year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction 21st Century Art Day Sale, which included the work Not So Tough by Austin Lee. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 138,600.00 (€ 16,612.75), 16% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Austin Lee have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Drowning in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 75,600.00 (€ 66,979.71).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion 21st Century Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Not So Tough von Austin Lee zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 138.600,00 (€ 16.612,75) und damit 16% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Austin Lee auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Drowning im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 75.600,00 (€ 66.979,71).
