Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Contemplation by Augustus Leopold Egg was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2013. The price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,283.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Augustus Leopold Egg have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Queen Elizabeth discovers she is no longer young. In the melancholy of her sickness, she desired to see a true looking-glass, into which she had not looked for twenty years. in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 38,240.00 (€ 59,881.87).

Die Arbeit Contemplation von Augustus Leopold Egg kam im Juli 2013 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 14.283,43) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden.
