Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Henry Charles Hamilton (1811-1872), seated half-length by Augustus Leopold Egg was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2012. The price achieved of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,997.04) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Augustus Leopold Egg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Queen Elizabeth discovers she is no longer young. In the melancholy of her sickness, she desired to see a true looking-glass, into which she had not looked for twenty years. in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 38,240.00 (€ 59,881.87).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Queen Elizabeth discovers she is no longer young. In the melancholy of her sickness, she desired to see a true looking-glass, into which she had not looked for twenty years. im November 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 38.240,00 (€ 59.881,87).
