Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2013 Christies in London held the auction The Collection of Professor Sir Albert Richardson, P.R.A., which included the work Head of a girl, half-length, wearing a white chemise by Augustus Leopold Egg. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,884.87). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Augustus Leopold Egg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Queen Elizabeth discovers she is no longer young. In the melancholy of her sickness, she desired to see a true looking-glass, into which she had not looked for twenty years. in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 38,240.00 (€ 59,881.87).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2013 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Collection of Professor Sir Albert Richardson, P.R.A. durch, in der auch die Arbeit Head of a girl, half-length, wearing a white chemise von Augustus Leopold Egg zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.884,87) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Augustus Leopold Egg erzielen.
